ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUESTS

The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole

Betsy Carlin, MS-ECS spent the first 25 years of her career as a public school teacher and an early childhood program administrator.   Currently she splits her time as an on the floor teacher/facilitator in a toddler classroom and as an Early Childhood Consultant specializing in leadership development.  This combination allows her to have fresh stories from her classroom to share as she works to promote and raise the status of the early childhood field.  She is a dedicated volunteer leader with experience on multiple boards of directors, including The Children’s Learning Center in Teton and Sublette Counties, Wyoming; the Wyoming Early Childhood Association in the roles of President and VP of public policy; and chair of the NAEYC Affiliate Council.  She is also an elected Teton County School Board member and currently serves as the Board Chair.

Dr. Sadie Monaghan received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2014. During graduate school she completed clinical training at multiple programs at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Belmont, MA. These included the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Institute (OCDI), the Klarman Center for Eating Disorders, and the 3East DBT program for adolescents with suicidal and self-injurious behaviors.  She went on to complete a predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at McLean. She then accepted a position as a staff psychologist at an adult partial hospital program at McLean. Dr. Monaghan left the hospital to develop a private practice in 2016, and moved with her family to her hometown of Jackson Hole, WY in summer 2017. She specializes in treating adolescents and young adults, as well as adults, with eating disorders, OC-spectrum disorders, and bipolar disorder. She is a member of the Teton District Board of Health, the President of the Wyoming Psychological Association, and has authored several research papers and a book chapter.
